My zombie plan was a lot easier when I lived in New York. Now that I live in Chicago, my zombie plan will require a lot of travel. Luckily, no one else will be driving so my lack of driving skills won't matter at all. I plan to hole up in a series of safehouses, mostly large area hospitals. Since I don't know how to use guns, I'll have to go with what I do know: research. And what better place to research ways to defeat hordes of the undead than a hospital? Also, hospitals come with built in barriers and easily isolated areas. Also, I would have access to prepackaged and non-contaminated food, water, medicine, and oxygen, as well as lots of reading material and they'll probably be the only places that still have power. I can go from hospital to hospital, hole up for days, build traps and design defenses, and then lock the whole thing down and move to a new area to confuse the ravening flesh-eating hordes. I'm not naming names, but let me just say that some of the hospitals in my plan are in very defensible areas.
Zombie Stuff: February 2009 Archives
Scenario: A hideous disease (type/vector) unknown has infected the entire world and turned everyone around you (as far as you know) into mindless, flesh-eating zombies and somehow you (only you, as far as you know) are immune. What do you do?
Rules: Write a blog post that details your zombie survival plan without materially deviating from the above scenario i.e., no superpowers, no miracle cures unless you're a doctor whose zombie plan is to spend every waking moment fighting off hordes of the undead while you research a cure but we already saw that movie so no to that unless you're Will Smith (or built like him and have pictures to prove it), no space aliens, etc. You can introduce a ragtag team of survivors if you want to, but chances are they'd just shoot you first and realize you're immune later so there has to be a realistic reason for you all to band together. Also, if you don't know how to shoot a gun now, don't assume that somehow the knowledge will come to you along with your immunity to the zombie infection. More rules may be added as necessary. Post a comment with a link to your zombie plan and/or send it to Twitter with #zombieplan.
