Whiny Stuff: September 2008 Archives
Randomly searching for loan things (I don't know why, but hey, maybe someone out there could use the information). I don't need a Car Loan at the moment (and hopefully not in the near future) but I do like being able to compare and contrast various loan offers, and have that to compare to the horror that the dealer might offer.
As I've mentioned before, my credit is horrible, but I might get my mom to cosign with me for some Personal Loans so that I can replace broken things and maybe buy some furniture.
But I think my best plan would be to get a job that doesn't suck at a company that isn't run by the financial equivalent of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
I still haven't purchased a Kindle OR a Reader. I'm leaning towards the Sony Reader, but I'm paralyzed by the promise of the new version. Now there are rumors that there is a new Sony Reader coming out in November. Should I wait? Should I just buy one?
Auuuuuuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggggh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The answer of course is, I should buy neither of them, and I should save my pennies. I probably shouldn't have had that fourth can of soda either.
And I definitely shouldn't stay up all night watching Conan movies.
Well, you know what they say: two out of three ain't bad.
I was at a garage sale the other day (it was actually IN a garage, my brain practically exploded). I found the garage sale because there were these giant signs by the train station and signs guiding you all the way to the where the garage sale was being held.
I found some neat stuff for making a Zia costume for next Gen Con. Also, I realized that without some kind of guidance, no one will ever find my website. Ever.
I have some linkback going on, and I'm starting to get some tiny bit of notice (it's amazing what having actual content can do for you) but what I really need are some signs. What I really need, is to be part of a good Affiliate Network of some kind.
You know, some big network with lots of links. Maybe some kind of network that gets mentioned in Inc. 500, and gets awards for being Entrepreneur of the Year from the Bank of America. Something like that. So I'm applying, and hopefully will get some more traffic. They're very selective, however, so I will probably get rejected and have to try again later.
So I was thinking about Credit Cards and decided to search for one at CardHub on the off chance that my credit rating was hiding some fantastic rehabilitation method, even though as you already know I have terrible credit. I found some that I could apply for, but thinking it over, I decided against it. I'm sure you could find one, but man oh man credit cards are not the way to go for people with bad credit.
Of course, I actually read the terms and conditions on the ones I was thinking about - CardHub very nicely puts links and summaries of each card right there for you, and they make it very easy to search by credit rating. I know that most people with bad credit are just dumb, and wouldn't actually read the fine print (two of the cards charge you for every credit increase - so after you pay on time over and over, and get your credit fixed, you get to PAY THEM $25 to get an increase on your credit limit) and the dumb people would just fall right into the horrible trap of these horrible cards. I think I'll just continue to use my bank card, and sigh over my wasted opportunities.
For everyone who isn't me, I recommend CardHub as a good way to compare and contrast various credit card opportunities. Be sure to read all the information they thoughtfully offer to you, including the terms and conditions for each card you are considering! There is some wacky stuff buried in there.
