This is a test post from flickr, a fancy photo sharing thing.

Setup:
Vista Business (the worst, most useless piece of garbage I have ever installed on a machine, this useless so-called OS beats out Norton for sheer uselessness)
Office Accounting 2008 Express
Logged in as an administrator account with UAC (item one on the useless piece of garbage list that is Vista)

Problem:
When creating a new company, I get an error message that the program needs my permission to continue.

Details say it is trying to run:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Small Business\Office Accounting 2008\ExecuteRestricted.exe /us COMPUTERNAME username

(yes it really says my COMPUTERNAME and username there)

Result:
There was an error granting application administrator status.

And it fails, with no more information than that.  So apparently, even though I am the administrator, I can't actually use the software.

Out of boredom, I decided to try viewing a sample company, and got a message that: An error has occurred while establishing an connection to the server.

This made me wonder: did it even start the server?  It's set to Automatic, but...

Nope, it didn't.

Fucking retarded.

Also, if you want to know how to get the ExecuteRestricted.exe garbage, just set the file to Run As Administrator in the Properties of the file.

Fucking retarded, seriously.  What is the point of Vista's UAC anyway?  It can't even elevate when it's supposed to, and you can't turn it off because then you'll NEVER know when something is trying for elevated privileges.

Again.  Fucking retarded.
